Artist Statement

Thomas Buchs is an an illustrator and painter. As an Illustrator, Thomas has created artwork for advertising for many national, regional and local companies during the last 46 years. Much of his current work is Plein Air Painting (painting from life outdoors). Buchs has won dozens of awards in Plein Air Painting competitions.

Speaking about his paintings Thomas states, ”While painting outdoors from life I have learned the techniques necessary to translate my studio paintings into the freshness of a Plein Air Painting. It is my hope this painting, “Under the EL,” demonstrates some of that freshness.”
